15 May, 2005 It's not that we don't WANT to keep you updated more regularly, but it's hard to find the time when we are so busy what with a June UK tour for The Show is the Rainbow going on! Please check out our new favourite wunderkid live, fresh off successes Stateside with the likes of Neil Hamburger and The Locust and invitations from Hanson (of all people) and the girl from Atari Teenage Riot (whose name I can't recall at the moment). Find his album in UK stores as of June 6th, but you can buy it now from PostEverything.

and now for something completely different! tsk! tsk! is pleased to announce our first boy-band signing! Darren Keen is the one-man band producer/ performer from Lincoln, Nebraska called The Show is the Rainbow whose music tickles a part of us not yet touched by any of our other releases. His DIY efforts over the past couple of years have seen 2 EPs (one of which was produced by I Am Spoonbender), a split 7", and multiple self-booked tours all over the United States.
Recently armed with a video projector (in addition to his microphone and minidisc), his live shows -- which often involve semi-nudity and blood -- promise to be EVEN MORE chaotic, unusual, and entertaining than ever. Such inspired frenzy has brought TSITR to share the stage with the likes of Mates of State, Gravy Train!!!!, Broken Spindles, and many more as well as multiple upcoming dates with Cex, MC Chris, and Beep Beep.
Pop culture references abound with tongue firmly in cheek (Devo, Beck, Prince may get a nod), but his own songwriting voice is setting his path to superstardom. New album Radboyz Only!!! is out February 22nd in the States, a little later everywhere else. click here for US tourdates!
15 Nov, 2004 We are exhausted but very happy at the end of the Pro Forma tour. Thanks to everybody who came along and made it happen, who do you think is the hottest member of Pro Forma? I think the UK will be able to see more them soon, you know that we'll keep you posted!
23 Oct, 2004 Pro Forma tour dates here!!
3 Oct, 2004
We've been working long and hard to bring this special treat to you and is it ever worth the wait! Nov 1st wil see the release of the self-titled CD by Pro Forma, the "council" house sound of Glagow! The most astute trainspotter will realize that most of this release was originally found on a 12"-only release by Oscarr music (2002), operated by the folks behind the fabulous Optimo club (our favourite night out in Glasgow!). So, these are recordings of an earlier incarnation of Pro Forma (before you ask, yes it's very true that
this Pro Forma had Paul of Franz Ferdinand as ostensible frontman, but we'll wa
rn you now that it doesn't sound much like Franz, cuz who'd want that?), but the remaining members are now augmented by people from Life Without Buildings and Eska. Glasgow super-group, anyone? You'll be hearing even more about the modern-day Pro Forma early next year when they release their EP. But right now, let's give it up for Pro Forma!!! yay!!
We're celebrating in true tsk! fashion on November 6th here in London. Anyone interested in the details should sign up for our newsletter, but it's going to be a warehouse all-nighter blowout! Bring your dancing shoes!

2004-7-09 Boy oh boy, have we got something exciting lined up for you. stay tuned for more details (expected October '04)...
2003-12-15 Mates of State have now received yet another seal of approval; the infamous Rough Trade shop has selected "Nice Things That Look Good" (that's track 5 on My Solo Project for those of you that don't know all their song titles by heart!) for their upcoming Counterculture 2003 compilation! Rough Trade, me, and you know how amazing Mates of State are, hopefully some more folks in Britain will get to hear it, too!
| 2003-11-30 I think Margo left a trail of broken hearts around England, but maybe they'll hang out with us some more next year. tsk! tsk! will be trying to keep our toes warm and preparing for more good eggs hatching 'round springtime.
For anyone who loves these bands as much as I do, here's a couple of treats:
Here's a link for TWO Mates Of States' videos, including their new one.
And the lovely Margo did the soundtrack for this beautiful piece of animation.
